About the speaker
Murray Steele has been a leader in the development of non-executive directors in the UK, with over 3,500 participants attending his programmes. Most recently he has worked with the Financial Times Non-Executive Directors’ Club to develop and deliver their six month, Masters level, Diploma and two-day Effective NED programme.
Steele has extensive NED experience, having held over 20 chair and NED positions in listed companies, divisions of listed companies, large privately and venture capital owned businesses, early stage tech businesses, charities, pension funds and the public sector. Currently he is chairman of Octopus Apollo VCT, a FTSE listed company which invests in mid-size unquoted companies and Surface Generation, an early stage high tech engineering company; and an NED at James Walker Group, an international engineering group and E- Energia, a Lithuanian energy company. He has successfully managed three exits and was shortlisted for the Sunday Times’ ‘NED of the Year’ in 2012 in the Private Company/Private Equity category.
